Terms

What this site is, what the software is, and the limits that come with free software.

This website

These pages describe Fetch Terminal, a piece of free software published by Lightmorphic Ltd. They are provided for information. We keep them accurate and correct mistakes when we find them, but we do not warrant that every detail is current at the moment you read it. The software moves; the page follows.

The software

Fetch Terminal is licensed under the GNU General Public Licence version 3, or any later version. You may run it, study it, change it and pass it on, on the terms that licence sets out. Nothing on this page adds to or subtracts from it, and where this page and the licence disagree, the licence wins.

As the licence says at greater length: the software comes with no warranty of any kind. It is free, it is provided as it is, and you run it at your own risk. A terminal runs whatever you type into it, and it runs it with your own permissions. We are not liable for lost data, a command that did more than you meant, or anything else arising from its use, to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Fetch Terminal is not sold. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no hosted service, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.

Saved passwords

The password vault encrypts what you save with your operating system's own keyring and keeps it on your own disk. It is a convenience, not a security product, and it is only as safe as the account and computer it lives on. Keep your PIN to yourself and lock your screen.

Other people's material

The terminal display is built on xterm.js, the app on Electron, and the type is Geist. Each is used under its own licence, named in the source repository, and remains the property of its authors.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
