This website

These pages are plain files. They set no cookies, run no analytics, have no forms and load nothing from another company, so there is nothing for us to collect and nothing for us to keep. We hold no personal data about anyone who reads this site. The apps menu in the top corner loads a script and its icons from apps.lightmorphic.com, which is also ours. It sets no cookies, stores nothing and sends nothing back.

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and the download button fetches the app from GitHub Releases. GitHub receives your IP address when your browser asks for a page or a file, as any web server does, and uses it to serve the request and to guard against abuse. That processing is GitHub's, described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. We do not see those logs and receive nothing from them.

The Fetch Terminal app

Fetch Terminal is something you install on your own computer. We never see it, and it never contacts us. There is no account, no licence check and no usage reporting of any kind.

What your own copy stores, on your own disk, in your user configuration folder:

• Your saved snippets, which can include the addresses and usernames you connect to.
• Your command history, which is what powers the autocomplete.
• Your chosen accent colour.
• Your vault PIN, stored only as a salted hash, and your saved passwords, each encrypted by your operating system's own keyring before it touches the disk.

Every one of those files is readable by your user account only. Deleting them, or using the Reset button in the app, removes everything. Nothing is backed up anywhere else by us.

What the app sends out

One thing on its own: a check for new releases, once when it starts and once an hour after that, or when you click the green dot. That is a request to GitHub, which sees your IP address and the version you are running. GitHub's handling of it is covered by the statement linked above. Nothing else leaves the app unless you type a command that sends it.

What you run inside the terminal is yours. If you connect to a server, that server sees what any terminal would show it. The app adds nothing.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete. If you believe otherwise, write to privacy@lightmorphic.com and we will answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
